Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
a. Use important theatrical terms to analyze and evaluate the methods of artistic and
intellectual expression through theatre.
b. Trace a fundamental history of theatre.
c. Identify relationships and distinctions between performance and a theatrical text.
d. Recognize the basic elements of drama and dramatic structure.
e. Understand the elements and craft of theatre.
f. Recognize and identify the contributions of key members of the collaborative team of
theatre artists who create and perform theatre.
g. Identify the contributions of several seminal playwrights and theatre artists.
h. Identify and explain some of the social, cultural, and political influences on theatre
